It's funny. I was thinking the same thing yesterday, especially about all
the unemployed STEM graduates.
I wonder, if there fewer people enrolling in STEM fields due to the
perception that AI has "eaten" their job, will existing tech people become
more valuable when the recession passes? I guess this is assuming that
the recession does not become a full-blown depression, in which case
everyone will become devalued.
In any case, the best thing that may come out of these stories is that
more people may become luddites, or at least suspicious of technology --
which is a good thing.
